Awana Begins

Since the Awana program needed leaders, I signed up to listen to verses and to help kids out during game time.  The kids were busy learning their verses all week and were ready to blast off for a great night.

Jordan went into the Cubbie class.  Jordan was a Puggle last year; however, he was glad to move on.  He said,  "Puggles is for babies"  He was super excited about being a Cubbie because he really wants to grow up and get bigger than me for some reason.

Brody did awesome too.  He won a couple of the circle races and then went on to do two sections on the Bible memory.  I was impressed to see him sit and listen without being a distraction during Bible story time.

Kara was the one who blew the top off.  One of the leaders came up to me and said, "Kara got 42 Awana bucks tonight because she said seven sections and got seven pieces of candy too."  I could tell by looking in her eyes that she was utterly amazed.  She then told me, "Kara did all seven sections word perfect."  In other words, she never made a mistake.  Kara was impressive and I was very proud.

I think some of the credit goes to my beautiful wife, Chasity, who works so diligently with the kids making sure that they know the Word of God.
