Before we eat, we always have a family prayer time where I thank the Lord for the food that He has given to us. The kids just expect this to take place and want to pray before I have a chance to open my mouth.
When I told everyone to close their eyes to pray, Kara like normal took off on her prayer where she prays for everybody and everything. At the end of her long prayer she said, "I thank-you that you are my King and I want to thank-you for saving our life even if we are drowning in the water. In Jesus Name. Amen!"
I opened my eyes and thanked Kara for her prayer and informed everyone to close their eyes so that I could pray. At that moment, Jordan decided to take off on his prayer saying, "Thank-You Jesus for our food. Amen!"
At this point I was thinking that perhaps I didn't even need to pray because they did such a good job; however, I told everyone to close their eyes one more time and we prayed together as a family.
After I finished the prayer I asked, "Does anyone want a drink?" Chasity said, "We are out of water...honey." My first thought was how do you run out of water when you have a faucet full of water; however, she meant that there was no water that had been filtered. I started thinking maybe we should thank the Lord for our food and our water.
