After Chaz had Jordan, she was in a lot of pain. I had to spend a lot of time being both Mom and Dad for Brody and Kara.
Chaz was not able to really get around as the pain was pretty intense. She was on pain medication which basically put her out. She would wake up from time to time to nurse the baby and then fall back to sleep.
During this time, I got to see Brody and Kara's life really up close. I saw where they both needed help and began a small program to keep them busy during this time.
Our church was really awesome by bringing meals on occasion which meant that the kids and I got a little diversity. Since Chaz was in so much pain and I still had a work a full-time job, it was really helpful and put a little spring back into my step.
One thing I learned is just how much I depend on Chaz for pretty much everything. She faithfully administers vitamins; however, I failed to do this consistently. She faithfully has the kids to school on time; however, I failed to get them their on time on many occasions. Chaz always has them wear the right stuff to school; however, I didn't even know what clothes they were suppose to wear.
I came to appreciate my wife even more through the experience as I realized just how much of a right hand woman she has become to me.
After about four weeks, Chaz didn't seem to be getting any better so we took her in for test. The doctor saw that she had an infection and prescribed a anti-biotic. She had to take that for 10 days. It seems that Chaz is getting much better now after taking the meds for which we are thankful!
Everyone has been so wonderful that it brings tears to my eyes. I just hope that we can help them too when they are in need.
Jordan was the perfect baby for the first four weeks he was home. He has begun to cry more and stay awake longer. I have to wear him out at night to get him to go to sleep. He likes to eat all the time!!!! He has begun waking up every three to four hours to get another meal. He is so precious though. I just look at him and think he is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.
Tonight I was working his arms and legs getting him ready for bed. As I was doing this, he decided to roll over all on his own!! I was shocked thinking it was just an accident. I then began playing with him again and sure enough, he did it again! I think he is a little early to be rolling, but he is a strong little baby.
