Kara's Concert

Before our kids go to bed, we always pray together and spend time reading the Bible together. We recently have added another activity which is singing and story telling. The kids will get up in front of Chas and I and either tell a story or sing a song. We figure it is good practice for them in developing confidence as well as developing speaking/singing skills.

Keeping that in mind, Kara came into my office and said, "I am having a concert in seven minutes!" She then left the room.

At first I thought the word "Concert" was so grown up. How does my little girl know what a concert is. I then realized that she may have been talking about the concert we recently went to at church.

Kara came back about a minute later and said, "It has been seven minutes, time to go downstairs to see my concert."

I got out of my chair to see this performance of hers having no idea what to expect. She grabbed my hand as we walked down the stairs. She was so excited about what she was doing.

Kara sat down on a small stool and picked up her musical instrument. The instrument was a piece of wood and a coat hanger. She started banging them together keeping a pretty good beat.

At certain times in the concert she would make faces with some smiling, beaming and then her famous grimace look.

After she finished playing the piece of wood and the coat hanger. She then changed to clapping a Barney song for me. It went, "Clap, Clap, Clap -- Clap, Clap, Clap -- Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap." She would clap in a circle on the last set of claps.

The office phone began ringing so I got up and thanked Kara for her wonderful concert. She then said, "Sit down, I am not done" and then grabbed my arm pulling me back to her concert area.
