Chas and I went to visit my Dad. My Dad was scheduled to put a defibulator in which would regulate and monitor his heart. The move was a surprise to the family since we thought his previous bypass surgery had done the job. My Dad decided to put his life in the Lord's hands instead.
My father had three doctors telling him that he had to put in a defibulator. He was pretty convinced he needed it after hearing the same result from all three doctors. However, after some time in prayer and consideration, he decided not to go through with it at this time.
If he passes away, it will be sudden and without much warning. He most likely will fall asleep and just not wake up.

At this point, my Dad feels good and does not sense a problem. I took him out walking today and then challenged him to go bike riding. He did both easily with no heavy breathing, etc... I saw how his parents died and even know how my great grandparents died. They had hearts that were powerful and just wouldn't die until they were ready to pass on. I consider that to be a blessing of the Lord...
After Dad came out of his bypass surgery, the doctors told me that there was no sign of a heart attack, the heart was not enlarged and his appeared to be in really good condition (to their surprise). I think he has a good heart; however, I believe his heart is having trouble pumping the blood through the body due to all the narrow pathways. I don't think the problem is really the heart at all, I think it is the arteries that the blood is traveling through.

As a result, his heart has to pump harder than normal which is most likely wearing it out faster, but hearts are pretty powerful things as long as they are healthy. Thankfully, based on the doctors eye witness testimony, I think his heart is healthy, but just working super hard to get the blood through the body which the defibulator could help with if it was put in. Dad is just not convinced that he really has a problem. As a result, we can only wait on the Lord and allow Dad to enjoy his good health until the day the Lord calls him home.

While visiting my Dad, Chas and Brody decided to jump on the bike and go for a ride.

Chas at church with Brody and Kara. The kids just loved my Dad's church. They had a playground outside and breakfast snacks before the service began. On top of that, our kids love the Lord and enjoy being around God's people.

Dad got to spend some time with Jordan who absolutely loved his Grandpa!

Chas and I decided to stop by Chick-Fil-A on our way home. We call it one of our favorite spots because you get to eat good food and my wife enjoys dreaming about shopping.

Denny and his son Jordan spend a moment together. I just love this little guy. He always has a smile on his face and is always ready to explore the world. Jordan absolutely loves his life and enjoys our family every day.

Brody and Kara had a moment at Chick-Fil-A. They are best of friends and love the chicken. Of course, after they get done, they like to run around the mall and enjoy all the space where they can play.
